My kids are allllllll the time scraping their knees.
My youngest is especially bad because she is 2 and still learning how to function as a human being. So she scrapes her knees at least once a week at this point.
My oldest acts like every time she gets hurt she has just shattered her femur, but she usually rebounds pretty quickly.
So, the other day, my youngest was wrestling with a sunburn that had her feeling…crabby…
And so I quickly prayed for her, “Our Father, make Charlotte’s sunburn all better.”
Which begs the question…does God care about boo-boos?
While The Lord’s Prayer doesn’t specifically say anything about ouchies and boo-boos, it does mention asking for exactly what we need for today.
And Jesus tells us that God cares for sparrows, so God cares for us even more.
God cares about the details of our lives, the daily needs and wants we have…
the boo-boos
and the ouchies
and the owies
So don’t neglect to pray about the little things as well as the big things!
My prayer for today
Our Father, thank you for caring about the smallest details of our lives as well as the biggest ones. Remind us to come to you for anything and everything. And thank you for loving us more than we will ever understand. Amen.
Remember
Take the time to reflect on God’s love for you, that God cares about the smallest, tiniest details of your life. And don’t be afraid to pray for your most recent papercut, stubbed toe, or hangnail. God is willing and able to listen!
