Cut out the phrase "I don't have time..."
We make time for the most important things in our life.

I use the phrase “I don’t have time…” probably every day.
If I’m being 100%, brutally honest, then I probably am saying it because I don’t want to do that thing.
But, here’s the thing.
We all have exactly the same amount of time every day.
And, if these studies that come out every year saying we are spending more and more time on our devices each day are true, then all of us are wasting a whoooole lotta time.
Which means, we do have time we just choose not to spend time working on our prayer life.
We choose to check our email three more times rather than spend 3 minutes working on our prayer rhythms.
And I am just as guilty as anyone.
Learning how to create healthy prayer rhythms can be tricky because no one really teaches us how to pray. We just observe and repeat what we observe.
But, it isn’t an issue of time. It’s an issue of will.
So stop saying, “I don’t have time to pray.”
And start being honest with yourself and others and say, “I don’t want to make the time to pray.”
Once you hear yourself say it out loud a few times, you realize it’s time to try something new.
My prayer for today
Our Father, help me realize that I’m wasting my time and give me the strength and desire to do something about it. Thank you for your persistent pursuit of my heart, even when I am lazily scrolling through more YouTube Shorts, TikToks, and Reels. Amen.
Remember
If you catch yourself scrolling, try and remember to pause for a second and pray. If you need to, practice creating rhythms of breath prayers to help you when you have those moments you realize you need to pray.
