“I don’t know what to do with my hands.”
I’m going to be 100% honest, I can’t remember what this quote is from but I use it a lot.
And it applies to something that always confused me growing up.
I was taught to “fold my hands” for prayer…but then Proverbs 24:33-34 states that “a little folding of the hands” leads to poverty.
So…
Which is it?
I remember thinking way too much about these two things.
But there are a lot of these little things throughout scripture that seem to feel a bit controversial. And confusing to younger minds.
But, isn’t that a bit like getting worried about the presentation of a meal before you’ve learned how to actually cook it first?
So, get back to basics and don’t stress about things like the folding of hands…
My prayer for today
Our Father, help me to stop worrying about a little folding of hands. Spirit, guide us to praying first and posturing second. Amen.
Remember
Ask yourself, “are there any little hang-ups that are holding me back in my prayer life?”
